If you are a high school golf team looking for national competition, the Palmetto Golf Championship is an annual tournament hosted in Myrtle Beach for any eligible high school golfers. This high school golf tournament is largest team event of its kind in the nation, the Palmetto boasts the opportunity to showcase your HS golf team in an environment unparalleled to any other.
Spanning 20 years, the Palmetto has hosted current PGA Tour players Rickie Fowler, the 2006 champion, and Harris English as distinguished alum. Touted teams who have hoisted hardware include host school & South Carolina State Champions Waccamaw HS, 12x Oklahoma State Champions Edmond North HS, and 2x Northern California Champions Bellarmine College Prep in the past three years.
The 54-hole, college style event opens on a Thursday with a qualifying round at True Blue Golf Club to tier the competition into two flights. The Friday and Saturday rounds are played at True Blue and its sister course, Caledonia Golf & Fish Club. Caledonia is ranked 24th on Golf Magazine’s list of the Top 100 You Can Play, a ranking of America’s best public courses, and True Blue is 77th on the prestigious list.
